Traffic Officers (up to 6 posts) 

Motorways help bring us all together, so keeping them safe and free from congestion are important priorities for us all. Traffic Officers hold front-line responsibility for this key function, providing vital and visible support to motorists where and when it counts the most.

This important and demanding role calls for both physical and emotional strength and you will need the ability to keep your cool in stressful situations.

You will also be confident in making decisions and will have held a full UK driving licence for at least two years with no more than three penalty points.

We operate a 24/7 rotating shift pattern, so you should have a flexible attitude towards working nights and weekends. You will also have:

• 1 year’s experience in an operational customer focused role, or

• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above and six months experience in an operational customer-focused role.

You will enjoy comprehensive ongoing training and a generous pension scheme.

Annual leave is 222 hours per annum plus 10.5 days public and privilege holidays.

This is a “safety critical” role, therefore it is important that you live less than one hour’s commutable distance from the respective location you are applying to.
