The beautiful Kew Palace draws visitors from around the world. Bring its colourful history to life, and you’ll ensure they leave spellbound.
You could be posted in Queen Charlotte’s Cottage, the Welcome Centre or Kew Palace itself. You’ll remain on hand to provide information, greet new arrivals and sell tickets and guide books. Visitors might ask about the history of an artefact, or the membership scheme. Either way, you’ll be helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We may ask you to conduct tours too – but don’t worry – everyone gets thorough training first. Security is also important and you’ll keep a close eye on exhibits and tickets alike. Experience with cash handling would be an advantage.
Unsurprisingly, an interest in history is essential. But you must also be comfortable talking to visitors and drawing on any previous service industry experience. If you’re GCSE-educated (or equivalent) and happy working on a rota, 5 days out of 7, find out more and apply by visiting www.hrp.org.uk
Closing date: 27 January 2010.
