MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION DEPARTMENT (MSAD)

The Management Services and Administration Department provide a range of support functions to the TUC, including Personnel and Training, Finance, Facilities Management, Information Services, Conferencing, Publications, Print and Despatch.

Salary £25,242 pa rising incrementally to £25,673 pro rata pa including LW 
Fixed term until 31 March 2011 
35 hours per week Monday to Friday 
Based in London, WC1 3LS

The postholder will work as part of the Personnel and Training team providing day-to-day administrative support for the section. Responsibilities will include recruitment and selection administration, developing and maintaining accurate record management systems, and organising and servicing personnel meetings. As well as proven experience of providing effective administration (preferably personnel administration) in a large organisation the successful candidate will also need:

• NVQ Level 2 in Administration or demonstrable skills and experience to achieve it, or a Certificate in Personnel Practice (CPP), or be willing to work towards this qualification

• ICT skills, including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Outlook and internet

• ability to effectively prioritise work tasks in order to meet competing deadlines

• strong organisation skills and attention to detail

• knowledge and understanding of equal opportunities and diversity within a Personnel and Training context
