We are one of the largest housing providers in the region with over 22,000 social and affordable homes, and nearly 1,000 employees. Our properties are mainly located in the Bradford district although we also have homes in Kirklees, Wakefield, Sheffield and across Yorkshire. As a community benefit society, our income is reinvested into the homes and communities in Bradford and surrounding areas.

Our vision is Improving Lives Incommunities and we are committed to using our strength and influence to improve lives, provide opportunities for people to fulfil their potential, and make our communities great places to live. With an asset base of over £456m and a turnover last year of £104m, we are ambitious to keep growing and plan to complete over 270 new homes in the current financial year. We are also proud to create opportunities for local people and the local economy through our employment schemes and activities.

As we enter the final stages in developing our new Corporate Strategy, we are looking for a new Chair for our Audit and Risk Committee who will also have a wide-ranging strategic contribution as a Non-Executive Director on our Board. This is a key position to help ensure we continue to manage our risks effectively, deliver our strategy and support the achievement of our current and future ambitions.

You will bring to us strategic insight from a complex and regulated business such as ours in the public, private or non-profit sectors. With a relevant financial qualification, your career will have progressed in customer-centric organisations where you’ll have experienced the positive impact a highly effective audit and risk committee can have. Combining tact, diplomacy and a constructively challenging approach, you’ll convey the energy and passion we’re looking for, along with a strong alignment to our vision and values.

Equity, diversity and inclusion are central to everything we do at Incommunities, and we proactively seek people to join us from all backgrounds. We wholeheartedly believe in diversity, and that the best boards reflect the communities they serve.
